would love all the rest of the suggestions, especially an immediate engine blow if overreved, but random failures are a big no no imho, it would make the game extremely frustrating and annoying

thanks for the help jakg, so i wonder where i can find this out?? i checked with CPU-Z, and the mobo came up as a DELL OF8096. chipset - intel i945G/GZ but i googled this and came up with nothing if i called DELL could they tell me i wonder, or would they frown upon messing with their machines?

just hoping to get some helpful advice on an upgraded CPU for my machine. i know a bit about computers, but not enough to know will a certain CPU fit my motherboard so i was hoping someone could help me out

2gb of Crucial DDR2 BallistiX TRACER PC6400 RAM.
0GB SATA drive.(500GB external)
nvidia 8800GTS overclocked
Antec 500watt PSU

quick question im sure someone here will answer easily, just got a new PC, do i have to D/L the whole LFS again and just log in, and regarding sets/skins, save all sets etc to external harddrive and transfer them into the relative folders on the new pc?

looks good, a good wheel does make a big difference tho for drifting, ive a nardi on one car with very little dish, and a keys racing wheel on my ae86 with mega dish, totally different driving feel. i like the look of it too

so we've got the actual pc cooling thing sorted, any tips graphics wise?? will any of te LOD settings help? like i said i have clouds, flags etc turned off

Cheers nikimere, i will try that later, but to be safe already bought a cooler. better safe than sorry. i have never cleaned my fan before, and the laptop is over a year old so i can imagine it is fluffed up.
last night when we were racing on ky i could barely touch the undersid of the computer

p.s i also need a laptop, and my bro races on the desktop

cool, that heat would be one of the factors of the fps dying off though am i right? i once wrapped an ice pack in towel and put it under the laptop and it helped alot. im going to buy a cooler i think, the keyboard even gets roasting

i play lfs on a dell inspiron laptop, i dont have all the specs here, but on single player i get about 60ish fps, online usually 40ish until my laptop overheats and it drop dramatically sometimes to 12 or 10! now from reading previous threads a cooler is a must so im of to get one asap.

the question is, is there any other tips graphics wise i can do to bump up the fps in any way? i have sky turned off, and turning off anti virus helped too, is there anything else i can do?? i assume i can get upgraded cards etc for my laptop?

thanks for the reply guys, the problem is my pc doesnt even realise it has a network card anymoe ie ive to reinstall all my drivers etc and ive no drivers for my wi fi connection so it'll be next week till an expert comes out. would my pc regognise a dialup connection???

i had a major computer crash last week and im now out of internet access at home for the next 2weeks or so. i managed to get all my stuff back, and all my settings etc. BUT, i have to log back in to S2 FULL. the problem is when i try to put in game password it just says "error in connecting to master server" obviosly because ive no internet connectionbut i want to practice. is there any way i can log back in to S2 with out connecting to the server because now im only on demo
